From the bottom floor of a home ... to an expensive six-story factory, Rangoni Firenze Shoes is Thriving. With nothing but a dream and sheer determination, Ugo Rangoni created a company that is known worldwide. Known for it's style, elegance and impeccable service.

Back in the 1930's when the company was founded, Rangoni Shoes were made by hand... with care and acuracy. Cobbler crafted chic shoes and sandals by hand out of leather. The detail was so exact, that within just a few years, they were producing shoes for such designers as Christian Dior. But what really set Rangoni apart from other brands was their casual elegance and comfort. Ugo Rangoni created a line with low and medium heels , made out of the finest leather available. The company then created the "T" strap shoe, selling over two million pairs in the 1950's.

After 63 years of business, Rangoni Firenze still prides itself on the variety of leathers used in it's shoes. The company offers personalized service , developing products by hand if needed. and every store is equipped with a workbench so minor fit adjustments can be made. Rangoni Firenze now owns and operates 12 stores in the United States.

The company has a showroom in New York City, and is constantly looking for new locations to expand. Currently Rangoni Firenze is searching for locations in Northeast, the Deep South and additional sites in CAlifornia. And plans are already underway to expand into england and Germany.

Rangoni Family History

The Rangoni legacy dates back to the 13th century, when a group of German settlers decided to move south. They landed in a small city named Modena, in the northern region of Italy. By the 15th century, they called florence their home.

As the years passed and the family grew, so did their influence in southern Europe. Combining real estate, the shipping Industry anda Chemical company - the family fortune had begun. By 133, Ugo Rangoni began working as a salesman for a small Italian leather company. That's where the idea for Rangoni firenze shoes was born. Living on the top floor and making shoes at the bottom, the Rangoni shoe factory opened its doors.

Within a short time, the company developed a reputation for combining quality with style. Just a few years later , Rangoni became one of the first companies to export shoes to the United States. Then came 1939 and World War II.

Throughout the next few years, the company continued to grow. But after the Allies liberated Europe, business skyrocketed. The company was forced into a much larger factory - to keep up with demand.

Then in 1973, with the company still expnding... Ugo Rangoni died. So at the age of 18, Ugo's only son Niccolò was forced to take over the family business. They still include a chemical company, a small winery and, of course, Rangoni Firenze Shoes. To this day, Niccolò Rangoni is living and working in Florence and Keeping his father's dream alive.
